GT-R, V-Spec or V-Spec II?

The R34 Skyline range includes cars with different engines and drivetrains. These listings focus on cars described by their sellers as GT-Rs. V-Spec adds equipment including an active rear differential and specific aerodynamic parts. Nissan introduced V-Spec II in 2000 with a carbon bonnet incorporating a NACA duct. Confirm the chassis identity and factory specification; badges and replacement body parts are not proof of a trim.

Compare the history behind the mileage

A low odometer reading is only one part of the picture. Ask for Japanese registration records, dated maintenance invoices, available auction history and any documented instrument-cluster replacement. Compare original cars and modified cars separately, allowing for the condition of the body, drivetrain and interior.

Plan the import before buying

For a U.S. purchase, the manufacture date determines when the car reaches the federal 25-year safety exemption. Registration year alone is not enough. EPA requirements and state registration are separate checks, especially when an engine or emissions equipment has been changed. Send your destination and intended arrival date with your enquiry.

Questions to ask before buying

  • Chassis identity, build-date evidence and claimed V-Spec specification.
  • Underbody, sills, strut-tower areas, panel repairs and paint measurements where accessible.
  • Cold start, leaks, cooling system, gearbox and all-wheel-drive operation within the agreed inspection scope.
